According to the Santa Barbara Independent, a sheriff’s deputy and a mental health outreach worker found 16 weapons after visiting a potentially suicidal 27-year-old man at his home in Santa Barbara. He was taken to Cottage Hospital for a psychiatric hold. The two men who responded are part of a new alliance called the Crisis Intervention Team, which pairs law enforcement with mental health specialists.
