    It’s a political tradition. Lawmakers invite someone to the State of the Union Address who has a personal stake in decisions made by the White House. That was the case with Trisha Pesiri-Dybvik, a Santa Barbara air traffic controller, who was furloughed doing the government shutdown. She was a guest of Senator Kamala Harris. She’s back in Santa Barbara and reflects on her trip to Washington, and the message she conveyed to members of Congress.
