Oscar-nominated director Thomas Vinterberg on ‘Another Round’

His screenwriter temporarily took over, but Vinterberg soon came back to the project.
He says, “Making this movie kept me from insanity, of sorts. We ended up doing the movie for her.”
Vinterberg is now Oscar-nominated for Best Director and “Another Round” is up for Best International Film. He tells us how his cast and crew carried him through the darkest days of his life to make a movie exploring the joys — and dangers — of drinking.
Vinterberg also reflects on the days of Dogme 95, the minimalist filmmaking movement he co-founded with Lars von Trier more than 25 years ago.
