In Lynn Shelton’s new comic caper film 'Sword of Trust,' Marc Maron plays a pawnbroker who gets caught up in a scheme to sell a Civil War artifact of dubious provenance.

Later she directed one of his standup specials and the two worked together on the Netflix series ‘GLOW.’ They also started planning to make a movie together, but Shelton says she struggled to get Maron to help her finish the script. Finally he gave it to her straight: "I said look, if you want to make a movie with me, why don’t you just go write one?” Turns out, she did just that.
