Moneyball is up for numerous awards but there was a time when its fate was in question. Director Bennett Miller and two of the film's producers -- Rachael Horovitz and Michael De Luca -- tell the dramatic tale of the project's troubled journey. Based on the bestselling book by Michael Lewis, Moneyball was a tough story to adapt into a movie. It was full of statistics and lacked a conventional happy Hollywood ending. Still, Sony took a chance. Brad Pitt got on board to star and produce with Stephen Soderbergh directing. Then a mere 72 hours away from shooting the studio pulled the plug. Hear what happened next and how Capote director Bennett Miller took the helm. (The DVD of Moneyball comes out January 10.)
