The Perils of Producing Reality TV

Monica Martino has made a career of producing "guys in danger" reality shows, like Whale Wars and Deadliest Catch. So when she got the call to be the show-runner on History Channel's Bamazon she was game. But logistics on the shoot proved woefully lacking and she alleges that the safety plan in place for cast and crew was "fabricated." This proved dangerous when she and others suffered two boat accidents in the Amazon late at night. The result was not just injury but legal action and Martino is calling for changes in her industry.
