As Goes California, So Goes the Nation (Or Not)

This week's midterm elections gave Republicans control of the U.S. Senate, and the party took more governorships than had been expected. But that supposed GOP wave may have diminished into a small ripple when it hit the California state line Tuesday night.

This week's midterm elections gave Republicans control of the U..S Senate, and the party took more governorships than had been expected. But that supposed GOP wave may have diminished into a small ripple when it hit the California state line Tuesday night. Democrats once again won every statewide race in the Golden State, from Governor Jerry Brown on down the ballot. But Republicans did poke some holes in other races. KCRW's Steve Chiotakis spoke with John Myers, senior editor of the California Politics and Government Desk at KQED in San Francisco, and Rick Orlov, political reporter for the Los Angeles Daily News.
