Longtime West LA Congressman and powerful Democrat Henry Waxman announced this week he will not seek another term, after serving 20 ofthem on Capitol Hill. Meanwhile, Marcie Edwards will be the new general manager of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. There's also a new sheriff in town. John Scott took over at high noon yesterday from Lee Baca, who stepped aside after 15 years heading the department. Finally, some interesting findings about the people who use LAX and whether they would actually use public transportation to get there. KCRW's Steve Chiotakis talked to Gene Maddaus from the LA Weekly and Seema Mehta from the Los Angeles Times.
