Black Jesus, a new live-action comedy from The Boondocks creator Aaron McGruder, is like a combination of "the greatest story ever told and Friday." In the show, Jesus Christ (played by Slink Johnson) is a "street-smart Savior" whose mission is to simply spread love and kindness in modern day Compton. In order to make a smooth transition from comics and animation to live action, McGruder collaborated with Mike Clattenburg, creator of Trailer Park Boys. McGruder talks about the challenges of animation vs live action, why comedy is the hardest thing in the world, and having Werner Herzog lend his voice to The Boondocks.
