Lynn Shelton's first feature as writer/director was the semi-autobiographical film, We Go Way Back, which won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2006 Slamdance Film Festival. From there, she says, she 'caught the director bug' and quickly followed up with My Effortless Brilliance (2008), and Humpday (2009). Her latest film, Your Sister's Sister, stars Emily Blunt and Rosemarie DeWitt as sisters Iris and Hannah, whose relationship gets put through the wringer after Iris' friend Jack (Mark Duplass) comes to stay with them at the family's cabin. She talks to Elvis about her 'endless obsession' as a director, how she (finally) chose the name for her latest film, and why she's proud to call Seattle home.
