    Mark Landsman: Thunder Soul

    Elvis Mitchell talks with Mark Landsman who directed Thunder Soul, about the Kashmere High School Stage Band from Houston.

    Mark Lansdman is the director of Thunder Soul, about the Kashmere High School Stage Band from Houston, Texas. The documentary features alumni from the Stage Band as they play a tribute concert for their band leader, 92-year old Conrad "Prof" Johnson. From 1968 to 1977 the band won numerous competitions with their funk arrangements. Landsman first heard about the band from NPR's Morning Edition.
