Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings have spent the last 20 years perfecting their visceral soul funk sound. Just as they began their break into the mainstream in 2013, Sharon Jones was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and emotions of fear, heartbreak and frustration swirled around the entire band. In Miss Sharon Jones!, director Barbara Kopple documents the emotional journey from Jones' diagnosis through the making of her Give the People What They Want album all while exposing the inspiring strength of survivor Sharon Jones.
