On his fourth visit to The Treatment, recorded at the historic Chateau Marmont, Elvis Mitchell talks to director Tim Burton about his extensive career, particularly his films within the last ten years. These films, like Sweeney Todd, Big Fish and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, center on the importance of parents, and share an 'operatic sense of loss' that Elvis finds intriguing. They also talk stop-motion animation, the legacy of Ray Harryhausen, and how despite the incredible strides in technology in movies, sometimes it's best to keep it old school.
