    It's Amazon's world now. What began 23 years ago as an online bookstore - a romantic experiment, it seemed at the time - has become an absolute gamechanger. Retail stores and workers now face a long list of challenges. With more than a half million retail jobs gone since 2001, the future of retail might predict the future of America's workforce as well.
