    Egypt Struggles to Mediate Gaza Conflict

    Medical sources in Gaza tell the BBC that more than 1000 Palestinians have now been killed during the Israeli offensive, one third of them children. Five thousand more have been injured. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is on his way to Israel, the West Bank, Jordan and Syria after meeting in Cairo with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.
