Gay Marriage Legal in California
A sharply divided California State Supreme Court today legalized same-sex marriage in the biggest state in the Union. The 4-to-3 majority opinion was written by Chief Justice Ron George, a Republican appointed by a Republican governor, Pete Wilson, in 1991.
