Genetically Modified Salmon Approved for Consumption

The AquaAdvantage salmon has been genetically altered to grow faster than other Atlantic salmon. AquaBounty technology, which produced it, says, "It can be farmed close to major consumer markets in a more sustainable manner." It's taken 20 years for the FDA to approve the genetically modified salmon for human consumption.
