Historic Penalties against Korean Carmakers for Overstating Fuel Economy Claims

Kia and Hyundai have agreed to the largest penalty in the history of the Clean Air Act: $100 million for misrepresenting the fuel economy of 1.2 million cars.  The carmakers agreed to a settlement with the EPA and the Justice Department.
