India Confronts the Problem of Violence against Women

The December kidnap, gang rape and murder of a 23-year-old woman have sparked a national outcry in India, with protesters across the country demanding greater protection for women. Five men have been charged in the case and their trial is expected to start this week in a special fast-track court.

Five men have been charged in the case and their trial is expected to start this week in a special fast-track court.
