    NAFTA and Free Trade in the Americas

    The North American Free Trade Agreement was intended to phase out most trade restrictions between the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and usher in a period of prosperity. But on its 10th anniversary, critics and supporters are still at odds over whether the treaty that affects some 800 million people has worked. Some call NAFTA a failure in economic and environmental terms, and say the agreement needs to be re-negotiated. Others, including Mexico-s former president, say it has led to more jobs and better relations with the US. Guest host Jim Moret joins economists and foreign policy experts in a discussion about the success of NAFTA and whether it should be expanded to Central and South America. The air carrier canceled two flights New Year's Day and Aeromexico canceled a flight from Mexico City to Los Angeles, Thursday night.
