Shortly after the attacks in Paris, President Obama left the country for Europe and Asia. Today, back at the White House, he said he understands that Americans are uneasy, but that there is no credible threat at the moment, and gave this reassurance. "So as Americans travel this weekend to be with their loved ones, I want them to know that our counter terrorism, intelligence, homeland security and law enforcement professionals are working overtime."

Juliette Kayyem is former Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security, founder of her own security consulting firm and current member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council.
