Reiterating his deep concern about Gaza, President-elect Barack Obama insisted today he can't say more because only one president at a time can make foreign policy. He called domestic issues fundamentally different, especially regarding the "dire" condition of the economy. He took note of the $1.2 billion deficit and named Nancy Killefer the nation's first Chief Performance Officer to make sure it doesn't get worse. Ron Brownstein, political director of Atlantic Media, is author of The Second Civil War: How Extreme Partisanship Has Paralyzed Washington and Polarized America.
