Petraeus Nominated to Take Over Central Command

Today, Defense Secretary Robert Gates named his top commander in Iraq, General David Petraeus , to lead the US Central Command , responsible for all Middle East operations, including the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Peter Spiegel is Pentagon correspondent for the Los Angeles Times .
