Pope's Condition Worsens

The first Polish Pope in history, the first non-Italian in almost 500 years, and one of the most visible public figures of modern times, Pope John Paul II is said by the Vatican to be in "grave" condition. Around the world, Roman Catholics are praying, anticipating the end of an extraordinary papacy. What was John Paul's role in relaxing tensions between Roman Catholics and Jews in the fall of the Soviet Union? What about abortion, birth control and the ordination of women? When the Pope does pass away, how will his successor be chosen? How long will the process take? We join journalists and Catholics in the US, Europe, Africa and Latin America for look back at 26 years of extraordinary leadership and controversial teachings.
