Swiss Chemist Who Discovered LSD Dies at 102

The drug that produced the "psychedelic generation" was LSD, lysergic acid diethylamide. The man who accidentally discovered it died today at the age of 102. Swiss chemist Albert Hofmann accidentally took the world's first acid trip in 1943, as part of his search for a drug that would stimulate the respiratory and circulatory systems. Rick Doblin is founder and president of MAPS, the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies.
