Tesla Releases "Autopilot" Update

It's estimated that driverless cars will be available by the year 2020 — assuming regulators agree. Last night, Tesla took another step in that direction.

Last night, Tesla downloaded new software into its Model S cars. It makes them the closest commercially available vehicles on the road so far to being operated not by drivers, but by autonomous, computerized systems.
