Older Hong Kongers joined tens of thousands of high-school and college students, creating a “festive” mood as mainland tourists flocked in for shopping. There’s no sign of the tear gas and pepper spray police used over the weekend. Is Beijing waiting it out rather than creating another Tiananmen Square?
