Will immigrants in detention centers get their day in court?

The US Supreme Court today considered the plight of thousands of immigrants — often here lawfully, but sometimes detained for years without hearings on whether they should be deported. The Obama Administration appealed the decisions of lower courts that they're entitled to apply for release on bond. A new decision could have major impact on Donald Trump's immigration crack-down.

Arguing on behalf of the immigrants is Ahilan Arulanantham, Legal Director of the ACLU of Southern California and recent recipient of a MacArthur Genius grant.
