This week Rhythm Planet celebrates the subime music of Brazilian guitarist and composer Dori Caymmi, who is featured in the next Rhythm Planet Up Close! Event on Friday, September 27th at the Anne and Jerry Moss stage at New Roads School in Santa Monica.

He grew up in music and was already creating complex arrangements and launching the careers of big stars like Caetano Veloso and Gal Costa. A generation before his father, Dorival Caymmi, launched the career of Carmen Miranda, the first superstar from our big southern neighbor. Dori will perform and talk about his life in music at the Anne and Jerry Moss stage at New Roads School in Santa Monica on Friday, September 27th.
