The Fishwives' Tale

Your husband was lost at sea, and you have no way to support your family. What do you do....? Start a band.

One of the most dangerous jobs in the world is to be a commercial fisherman. In 2008, Jane Dolby lost her husband Colin when his fishing boat was caught in a storm. His body was never found. Without a body, there was no death certificate, and without that, there was no life insurance, and no way to support her family.

A few years later, to try and raise money for families in a similar circumstances… Jane put together the Fishwives' Choir with women from all over the UK who'd have lost husbands, fathers, brothers and sons to the sea. Most of the women had not sung since their school days, but their live shows became a big hit. Now Jane, Laura, Leigh and Wendy are ready to record their first album. They're one of the most unusual bands you’ll ever
