    A Strike at One of California’s Biggest Public Institutions Gets Little Attention

    All this week, 8,500 gardners, janitors, kitchen workers and parking attendants have been walking the picket lines on campuses of the University of California. Workers at UC hospitals have been told by their union that they can walk out if it won’t harm patient safety.

    All this week, 8,500 gardners, janitors, kitchen workers and parking attendants have been walking the picket lines on campuses of the University of California. Workers at UC hospitals have been told by their union that they can walk out if it won’t harm patient safety. The action—which is scheduled to end tomorrow—has not received a lot of attention.
