Busing And Integration: Time To Rethink?

The NAACP is backing off its traditional support of busing for integrated schools. Meanwhile, things are getting worse in Los Angeles. With the new school year barely underway, the numbers of kids bused is on a steep rise. What's the connection between overcrowding and integration? How does the popular classroom reduction make the situation worse? And are long rides worth it when you get there?
