Catalina Island Buffalo Head Home to the Plains

Eighty years ago, a production company shipped 14 buffalo to Catalina Island to be part of a film called The Vanishing American. When the film crews and actors left, the buffalo stayed behind, and the herd once increased to as many as 600. Reporter's Notebook: Israeli and Palestinian Launch 10,000 Kites for Peace Ongoing, reciprocal violence between Israelis and Palestinians has created a picture of hopelessness and despair, symbolized by the wall being constructed between them. But tonight in Los Angeles, the Skirball Cultural Center is hosting a dinner for 10,000 Kites, an organization that strives to create a new image for peace. We hear more about the project from artists, Adi Yekutieli, and Israeli, and Palestinian George Nustas.
