Chino Meat-Plant Owner Testifies in Washington

Testifying before Congress today, the head of the Westland/Hallmark slaughterhouse in Chino admitted that his "system broke down." Westland/Hallmark was closed after the biggest meat recall in history. In written testimony, company head Steve Mandell told a committee that, contrary to an infamous video secretly taped by the Humane Society, no sick cows were allowed to be slaughtered.
