Competing for LA City Council's 11th District
The LA City Council is guaranteed at least one new member this year because Cindy Miscikowski is termed out. Her 11th Council District includes some of the city's richest and poorest neighborhoods. It runs from LAX to Pacific Palisades, including everything west of the 405 Freeway, except for Santa Monica, Culver City and parts of LA County. Three candidates are vying to replace Miscikowski, competing with the rain and the mayor-s race for voters- attention. Debate forums reveal they agree on several issues such as extending light rail, stopping expansion of LAX, downsizing development and easing traffic congestion. With less than two weeks until the Los Angeles City election, we look for the differences between Bill Rosendahl, Flora Gil Krisiloff and Angela Reddock. On the Pacific Coast Highway, a precariously perched, massive boulder over the road has broken apart, but the road is still closed. We get an update on relief and repair efforts from Debra Harris, who speaks for Caltrans in LA and Ventura Counties, and Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski, who chairs the City's Public Safety Committee.
