Yesterday alone, 75 people were laid off, fully 10 percent of what remained after years of Draconian cuts blamed on "conditions across the newspaper industry." Inside the paper, even reporters who knew it was coming are shocked. Is the once-hefty Los Angeles Times about to become a daily pamphlet?
