Democrats, Republicans Blame Each Other on Budget Stall

Last week, Governor Schwarzenegger lost his first, big political fight when the state legislature failed to pass a budget to begin the new fiscal year. Now, he-s embroiled in a complicated struggle with Democratic legislators and local cities and counties, calling them -big spenders- out to -rob you blind.- To further confuse the picture, Democratic mayors Jim Hahn of Los Angeles and Jerry Brown of Oakland supported Schwarzenegger and campaigned with him over the weekend. This afternoon, the Governor again met with local leaders behind closed doors, leaving open the door to reaching agreement once again. Do voters have a right to be confused? What does it have to do with local police and fire protection? Warren Olney speaks with legislators of both parties. Reporter-s Notebook: Lakers Search for New Coach, Players Mike Krzyzewski's said no. So Rudy Tomjanovich, lately of the Huston Rockets, is the likely coach of the LA Lakers. But which players will be left to coach, or is Kobe Bryant running the whole show? Howard Beck, who covers the Lakers for the Los Angeles Daily News, updates the team's search for a new coach, and the uncertainty surrounding several of its key players, including Kobe Bryant who's still facing a rape charge in Colorado.
