Fallout from the Impending Closure of King-Harbor

LA Supervisors met behind closed doors today to draw up requirements for a private operator to take over the County's King-Harbor Hospital. Some $200 million in federal money was lost after inspectors found dozens of errors and failures during a final inspection two weeks ago.

LA Supervisors met behind closed doors today to draw up requirements for a private operator to take over the County's King-Harbor Hospital. Some $200 million in federal money was lost after inspectors found dozens of errors and failures during a final inspection two weeks ago. The Emergency Room was closed Friday, and outpatient clinics and urgent care will soon be all that's left. The Supervisors promised up to $16.3 million to nearby private hospitals and doctors braced for new patients from the area served by King-Harbor.
