Fleishman-Hillard Wrong-doing Goes All the Way to Mayor Hahn

Mayor Jim Hahn has denounced the practices of Fleishman-Hillard, the private public relations firm now being sued by the City Attorney for overcharging the City-s Department of Water and Power by $4.2 million. Though Hahn says if Fleishman-Hillard did wrong, it should say so and face -the strongest penalties,- yesterday, Controller Laura Chick released billing records showing that while that alleged-wrong-doing was going on, Fleishman-Hillard was meeting with the Mayor-s own deputies. We get several perspectives on the unfolding story from a spokesman for Mayor Hahn, Controller Chick and Eric Dezenhall, an expert in corporate and political crisis management and damage control. Reporter-s Notebook: Santa Monica Art Studio Opens Israel-Palestine Exhibit A former political consultant, Barbara Grover freelances now as a photo-journalist, in the hopes of effecting social change. She's an American Jew who lived in Israel for five years. Two years ago, she traveled from Gaza to the Lebanese border, photographing Palestinians and Israelis. The result is the exhibit This Land to Me, which opens on Saturday at the Sherry Frumkin Gallery at the Santa Monica Airport.
