Former SLA Members Arrested for 27-Year Old Murder

Sara Jane Olson is scheduled for sentencing Friday for trying to bomb an LA police car in 1975. Now, she and several of her former colleagues in a tiny, radical group have been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in a 27-year old killing. The victim was Myrna Opsahl, mother of four, who was trying to deposit church receipts in a bank near Sacramento when it was held up. We join reporters who were covering the story, then and now, for a review of the history and latest charges against the former members of the Symbionese Liberation Army, the group that kidnapped newspaper heiress Patty Hearst. Newsmaker: California Schools Improve Slightly Test scores are out again for California's public schools, and just 18 percent have met Governor Davis' benchmark score of 800. That's up one point from last year. Kerry Mazzoni is the Governor's Secretary for Education. Mazzoni credits a concerted focus on elementary schools, and elaborates on the Academic Performance Index, which rates and ranks California schools.
