French Give Answer on UN Peacekeeping Force
Four days after the United Nations' resolution , not one country had formally agreed to send troops into southern Lebanon. US and UN officials have warned that the process is taking too long. France, which has been asked to provide the "backbone" of the force, has been hesitant about a commitment until it knows which other countries will serve.
