    Getty To Return Prized Antiquities To Italy

    In the next few months, the Getty Villa in Malibu will no longer be the showcase it was when it re-opened to much fanfare last year. In a deal designed to end ten years of controversy, the Getty has agreed to return forty prized objects to Italy.

    In the next few months, the Getty Villa in Malibu will no longer be the showcase it was when it re-opened to much fanfare last year. In a deal designed to end ten years of controversy, the Getty has agreed to return forty prized objects to Italy. The masterpieces that will be shipped home include the statue of Aphrodite from the 5th Century B.C. - a touchstone of the collection.
