    Which Way, L.A.?

God: The Problem or the Solution?

Religions provide comfort and moral guidance to billions of people. Yet, the world-s deadliest, most intractable conflicts are fought in the name of God. Think of the Crusades, of contemporary Bosnia, the Middle East, and Islamic terrorism. Is God the solution to the world-s bloody conflicts or part of the problem? We consider this troubling issue that is thousands of years old with four panelists, three from the Abrahamic religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, and a professional skeptic. They are Rabbi David Wolpe of Sinai Temple, Hussam Ayloush of the Council on American Islamic Relations of Southern California, Pulitzer Prize-winning author and MacArthur fellow Jack Miles, and Michael Shermer of the Skeptics Society. This remote broadcast was produced at the Geffen Playhouse before a live audience.
