Harbor Secession Fails to Make November Ballot

The dynamics of one of the most important voter campaigns in LA history have changed even in the week since Valley secession was placed on the November ballot. Hollywood secession appears destined to join the Valley effort on November's ballot. But the Local Agency Formation Commission has announced that the Harbor area lacks the financial viability to break away from Los Angeles, calling for more study before it could recommend a citywide vote. We weigh the impact of LAFCO's latest decision with Janice Hahn, who represents the Harbor area on the LA City Council, and secessionists from Hollywood Vote, Valley Vote, and the Harbor Study Foundation.
