Instate College Tuition for Illegal Immigrants?
How much assistance should the state offer its illegal residents? Certain non-citizens in California could get a driver's license and some non-citizen students would be allowed to pay instate tuition rates under separate bills being considered in Sacramento. While Latino immigrant organizations see long-term benefits from such legislation, critics oppose normalizing the status of illegal immigrants regardless of their age or circumstances of their residency. We speak with an assemblyman who supports these bills and an immigration reformer who opposes them. (Kyle McKinnon guest hosts.) LA's district attorney says it's the first time a Los Angeles police officer has admitted to an on-duty bad shooting. Deputy District Attorney Hector Guzman was part of the DA's "roll out team," immediately on the scene. But conventioneers are canceling their reservations in droves, which has hotel owners and downtown business people fuming.
