Which Way, L.A.?

LAUSD

The School Board was unanimous-now the real work begins. After buying out the contract of LAUSD Superintendent Ruben Zacarias, the school board turned to Ramon Cortines to take on interim duties beginning January 16. Now comes the hard part. Cortines will work with Zacarias until the 15th, and with Howard Miller to right the wavering ship. How can the district get past its dysfunction? How can other Los Angeles institutions do likewise?
