AL CHECCHI: Former Chairman of Northwest Airlines, he is also attributed with increasing profits at both the Marriott Corporation and the Disney Company. LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR GRAY DAVIS: Lieutenant Governor since 1994 whose previous government experience includes 8 years as the State Controller, 2 terms in the State Assembly and 6 years as Chief of Staff to Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. JOHN JACOBS: Political Editor at the Sacramento Bee and author of the recent book, "A Rage for Justice: The Passion and Politics of Phillip Burton." DAN WEINTRAUB: The Sacramento Bureau Chief and a columnist for the Orange County Register. He has been covering the State Capital for over 10 years, including writing extensively on the 1990 and 1994 Governor's races. LARRY ZARIAN: Former chairman of the MTA and now a member of the Board.
