    Mexico's War on Drugs

Mexico's President Fox has issued a moving evocation for citizens to join him in eliminating drug traffic in their country. Once an impossible challenge because of judicial and law-enforcement institutions that were puppets to a corrupt government, Fox is determined to rid Mexico of its brutal drug cartels. Such a difficult challenge affords a variety of opinions about his chance of success. We'll hear from a reporter covering the US-Mexico border, specialists in US-Mexican relations, and a former US drug enforcement officer. Newsmaker: Governor Davis and the Power Shortage - Governor Davis signed a plan to spend 10 billion dollars so the state can negotiate long-term energy contracts. We hear about the plan's merits and faults from Assemblymen who voted for and against the plan, a public policy analyst, the leader of the Green Party, and the director of an energy trade organization.
