More Trouble at King/Drew Medical Center

After decades of medical errors, mismanagement and patient deaths, at least three of LA-s five County Supervisors are looking at privatizing the King/Drew Medical Center. Today-s LA Times reports on a federal inspection last Friday that documented continued medical errors and the death of another patient. The latest California Field Poll shows that just 28% of Californians feel the state is going in the right direction, with 59% saying its on the wrong track. That-s close to the pessimism recorded two years ago when Gray Davis was recalled and replaced by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Local governments are too small to solve some of their most pressing problems and state government is stalled in partisan gridlock.
