    Olympics Scandal

Salt Lake City is said to be in shock. Even the Mormon Church has expressed its concern at reports that local officials bribed International Olympic Committee members to get the Winter Games in the year 2002. But amid the expressions of shock and dismay are the voices of those who say that, for years, Olympic officials have been ignoring reports of financial corruption. More sinister still are claims that widespread drug use by athletes is well known, but covered up to preserve the myth of wholesomeness that sustains the Olympic Movement.
